Wegovy is semaglutide for chronic weight management, cardiovascular risk reduction in people with obesity or overweight, and since 2025 noncirrhotic MASH. It comes as a weekly pen and, since the FDA approval announced December 22, 2025, as a daily 25 mg pill. The two share a list price and a savings card and diverge on self-pay.
List price
$1,349.02 per package of four pens, and $1,349.02 per bottle of 30 tablets, per NovoCare's list-price page read September 4, 2026. Novo Nordisk has announced a new list price of $675 per month from January 1, 2027, and stated that self-pay prices are unaffected.
Self-pay through NovoCare Pharmacy
| Product | Strength | Price per month |
|---|---|---|
| Pen | 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg | $199 for each of the first two monthly fills (new self-pay patients, through 2026-12-31), then $349 |
| Pen | 1 mg, 1.7 mg, 2.4 mg | $349 |
| Pen, HD | 7.2 mg | $399 |
| Pill | 1.5 mg | $149 |
| Pill | 4 mg | $199 |
| Pill | 9 mg, 25 mg | $299 |
A month is one box of four pens or one bottle of 30 tablets. The same prices appear on TrumpRx.gov and, per the November 17, 2025 release, through partner pharmacies and telehealth platforms. Note the shape of the pen ladder: the $199 is a two-fill introduction at the two starting strengths, so a person titrating on the label schedule pays $199, $199, then $349 from month three onward. The pill ladder steps with strength and tops out at $299.
Multi-month subscription
On March 31, 2026 Novo Nordisk launched prepaid subscriptions through partner telehealth platforms (Ro, WeightWatchers and LifeMD at launch, others to follow). Pen, 0.25 to 2.4 mg: $329 per month on a 3-month term, $299 on 6 months, $249 on 12 months. Pill, 9 mg and 25 mg: $289, $269 and $249 for 3, 6 and 12 months. The 12-month pen term saves $1,200 a year against $349 but requires the full prepayment; the terms are set by each platform. The NovoCare programs page compares month-to-month against prepaid.
Savings card with commercial insurance
With a commercial plan that covers Wegovy: as little as $25 per month, with the card contributing at most $100 per month. Government beneficiaries are excluded. Novo Nordisk states it may modify or cancel the program at any time and, unlike the Lilly cards, the offer page read on September 4, 2026 did not state an annual cap or an expiry date. A $125 copay becomes $25; a $300 copay becomes $200. Details on the savings-card page.
Medicare
Wegovy, pen and pill, all strengths, is covered in the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge at $50 per month from July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027 for Part D enrollees who meet the CMS clinical criteria. The $50 does not count toward the Part D deductible or out-of-pocket limit because the Bridge sits outside the Part D benefit. When Wegovy is prescribed for its cardiovascular or MASH indication, it goes through ordinary Part D instead. From January 2027 the negotiated Medicare price for semaglutide products is $274 per month. The Medicare page covers the statute that kept weight-loss drugs out of Part D and how the Bridge gets around it.
What a month really costs
Four pens last 28 days, so $349 per fill is $4,549 a year and $379 per calendar month. The pill's 30-tablet bottle is closer to a real month: $299 per bottle is $3,640 a year and $303 per month. The calculator above does this for your strength and program.
Compounded semaglutide is a different product
Compounded semaglutide vials are not FDA approved and are not interchangeable with Wegovy. Their prices are set by the pharmacy or provider and are recorded, with a methodology, on the compounded price ranges page. FormBlends, which runs this site, sells compounded semaglutide and appears in that table under the same rules as every other provider.
Questions people ask
Is the Wegovy pill cheaper than the pen?
At self-pay, yes at the lower strengths: $149 for 1.5 mg and $199 for 4 mg, against $349 for the pen after the introductory fills. At 9 mg and 25 mg the pill is $299, still under the $349 pen. The list price is the same $1,349.02 for either. Whether a pill or a pen is right for you is a prescribing question, not a price question.
How long does the $199 introductory price last?
Two monthly fills at the 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg strength for people new to self-pay Wegovy, through December 31, 2026. From the third fill, or at 1 mg and above, the price is $349 per month.
